History

In the early nineties, Mr. Willy Van Moorter was invited by the government to participate in writing the Vlarem II regulations for the storage of dangerous products. The fact that inspections were foreseen in that part of the legislation, lead to the foundation of the non-profit organisation Corcon in 1994 by Willy and Frank Van Moorter. In that period the company also developed testing equipment for the inspections provided under Vlarem II.

The company grew steadily and from 1999 onwards the growth was such that it was decided to establish Corcon bv in 2000. In 2001 the company further strengthened by the arrival of Mrs Francine Van Moorter, who after the death of Frank (1968-2001), also took over the management of the company.

In the meantime, Corcon bv is playing an increasingly important role with regard to tank inspections on a local and international level. In this context, the laboratory for plastics was also started up in 2008. In this way, tests on base materials and tanks can be performed in-house. A BELAC accreditation according to EN ISO 17025 is obtained for the laboratory in 2010.

Through this diversification and know-how, the company’s growth into the future was guaranteed.

Due to the continuing growth and the associated need for financial resources, it was decided in 2020 to merge the company into an investment group. In this way, the company’s continued existence is guaranteed.
